September 2025 Grape Jelly and Chili Sauce

This is the best tomato harvest we have had in years!  The Romas are all grown from seed, most of the others were Celebrity or Moscow plants purchased from the local Garden Center.  These were the ripest ones on the vines and made three batches of chili sauce.  I did purchase peppers and onions at the grocery store and saved these smaller peppers for eating fresh.  This is the best pepper harvest I have probably ever had, even as small as they are.

Twelve Pints of Chili Sauce and 26 Half Pints of Grape Jelly
I think I canned some Apricot Jam last summer, but we didn't have any apricots this year on our tree.

Not too bad for this past week . . . a very busy couple of  Saturdays picking and juicing grapes, making the grape jelly and then picking and making the chili sauce.

We've had a pretty steady supply of cucumbers and summer squash and tomatoes.  The beans haven't done quite so well.  I'm not sure if it's been the heat or the critters, but we only had one good picking and another so - so -- with only a couple of beans each week since then.

There is some winter squash still growing, and it's probably time to dig the potatoes.
We also planted some later beets . . . and so we'll see what comes before the frost.
